Humboldt Superior Court Portal – Public FAQ
What can I view on the portal?
Pursuant to California Rules of Court 2.500 et seq, the portal provides basic information on public cases, similar to a Register of Actions. This includes future and past events, a list of filed documents, party names, and disposition status.
Do I need a login?
For many features, yes. However, you may view court calendars without logging in.
How do I create a login?

What information is needed to view a case?
To look up a case, you will need either:
• The first and last name of a party, or
• The case number
Why can’t I view documents?
The public portal does not provide access to case documents. California Rules of Court prohibit courts from providing electronic access to all case documents via the internet.
If you would like copies of documents from a public case, they may be requested in person at the courthouse or by submitting this form:

Who can see my case?
If your case is not confidential and is part of the public record, it can be viewed by the public, parties to your case, attorneys, legal organizations, court-appointed persons, and government entities pursuant to California Rules of Court 2.500(a).
Why can’t I find my case on the portal?
Some case types are confidential or have restricted public access and may not appear on the portal. Recently filed cases may also take time to appear. If you believe a public case should be visible and you cannot find it, contact the clerk’s office for assistance.
Is the information on the portal updated in real time?
The portal is updated regularly, but information may not reflect same-day filings or changes.
Can I file documents through the public portal?
At this time only Domestic Violence and Gun Violence Restraining Orders may be filed using the portal.
