Terms of Use

General Access

This portal provides access to the Humboldt County Superior Court (referred to as "the Court") via a secure web-based system (the “Portal”).

  • Data is refreshed in real-time.
  • The Portal is generally available 24/7, except during maintenance periods.
  • Maintenance windows are determined by the Court and/or its contracted vendor. Whenever possible, advance notice of system maintenance will be posted on the Court’s website.
  • Temporary outages may occur during maintenance windows.



The Court reserves the right to restrict or suspend access to any activity that negatively impacts system performance. Automated data mining, including but not limited to web scraping, data harvesting, and automated data extraction, is strictly prohibited. The Court may immediately revoke access if such activity is detected.

User Support

If you experience any issues when creating an account, please use the ‘Contact Us’ link on the homepage.
When submitting feedback, please provide detailed information, including:

  • A description of the issue
  • Any relevant error messages
  • Screenshots or other supporting documentation

User Accountability

  • The Court monitors and audits all Portal access through login credentials.
  • Portal access is granted at the sole discretion of the Court. The Court may enable or disable user accounts as needed.
  • Users may not willfully alter or destroy court records stored in electronic form. Violations are subject to penalties under Government Code Section 6201.


Restrictions on Access and Use

  • Portal access is limited to publicly available electronic case information under California Rules of Court 2.500 et seq.

  • By accessing or using the Portal, users agree to comply with:
    • This User Agreement
    • The California Rules of Court
    • Applicable laws, regulations, and court orders
  • This Portal and its content are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
  • Use of case file information is permitted only as allowed by law or court order.
  • Any use that infringes on proprietary rights is strictly prohibited.
  • Certified documents may be obtained through Court Operations at 421 I St, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For inquiries, call 707-445-7256. Fees are determined by the Civil Filing Fee Schedule.

To conduct a case search:

  • Users must log in with their registered email address.
  • If a password is forgotten, users can reset it by selecting "Request New Password."

Portal Search Functionality

A case search returns case numbers and associated case data, provided the information is publicly available. Selecting a case number displays the register of actions for that case.

Special Terms of Use

  • Court data is provided "as is" and "as available." The Court makes no guarantees regarding its accuracy, reliability, completeness, or availability.
  • The Court is not liable for discrepancies between Portal data and official court records.
  • The Court is not responsible for data obtained from third-party sources.
  • Judicial Branch Entities (including this Court, the Judicial Council of California, and any superior or appellate court) are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
  • Under California Rule of Court 2.504(b), electronically available trial court records are not considered the official court record unless they are electronically certified.



Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Judicial Branch Entities (including their officers, employees, agents, and contractors) against any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising from:

  • A user’s actions or omissions related to Portal access
  • Misuse, unauthorized disclosure, or improper storage of court data
  • Violation of laws, rules, or regulations related to Portal use

These indemnification obligations survive account termination.
